「自監體」於 2023 日內瓦國際影展（GIFF）全球首映 World Premiere of “The Eye and I” at GIFF 2023

藝術家黃心健與法國前衛電子音樂家讓·米歇爾·雅爾 (Jean-Michel Jarre) 2023 年的重磅之作《自監體》(The Eye and I) 11 月 3 日在日內瓦國際影展 (GIFF) 展開全球首映之旅。

“The Eye and I” had its global premiere at the Geneva International Film Festival (GIFF) on November 3, 2023, showcasing the collaborative masterpiece by artists Huang Hsin-Chien and the avant-garde French electronic musician Jean-Michel Jarre.

在監視無處不在的現代社會，無論是個人發言、行動，經過手機與網路的追蹤都無所遁形。《自監體》透過 VR 沈浸式展間所創造的全景監獄（Panoption），邀請觀眾走入十二個不同主題的牢房展間，從觀看與「監視」有關的歷史時刻，並切身感受來自不同場域、無所不在的「監視」，藉此思考、超脫「監視」所帶來的拘束。在觀眾沈浸在各個牢房時，Jean-Michel 的電子音樂更成為指引觀眾思索監視 / 被監視之間關聯的重要關鍵，並引發進一步的感知與反思。

Addressing the omnipresence of surveillance in modern society, where personal expressions and actions are tracked through phones and the internet, “The Eye and I” invites audiences into a panoramic prison-like setting created through immersive VR spaces. Within these twelve different thematic cells, viewers witness historical moments linked to “surveillance” and tangibly experience the all-encompassing nature of surveillance in various domains. This immersive journey encourages contemplation and the transcendence of the constraints imposed by “surveillance.” Jean-Michel’s electronic music serves as a guiding force for viewers while they immerse themselves in each cell, prompting deeper contemplation and reflection on the correlation between surveillance and being surveilled.

在為期十天的影展期間，兩位藝術家也於展會現場合體，針對本次發表活動進行意見交流，並期待未來能激盪更多合作的可能。展出迄今更收獲多位國際策展人好評及迴響。作品同時也受到當地媒體Radio Zones 93.8 FM電台關注，由台長Jean Musy親自到場訪談，可見本次展出在國際間產生的影響力與重要性。

During the ten-day festival, both artists engaged in collaborative discussions on the presentation, fostering prospects for future collaborations. The exhibition received positive feedback and resonated with several international curators. Moreover, the work garnered attention from local media, specifically Radio Zones 93.8 FM, where director Jean Musy conducted an interview, underscoring the impact and significance of the exhibition on an international level.

同時，我國駐瑞士台北經濟文化代表團日內瓦辦事處為支持《自監體》(The Eye and I) 的展出，更特與展覽主辦合作，在主題活動「數位之夜」(Digital Night) 會場中，佈置台灣專屬的「Eye of Taiwan at Geneva International Film Festival (GIFF) Digital Night」展區，透過情境佈置、聲音效果及現場引導，使參與活動的嘉賓們，更深入作品情境。
